What Software Other Than Windows Movie Maker Can I Use?

I love my Flip video camcorder, and have had it for about a year, I have been trying to upload videos to YouTube affter editing them in Windows movie-maker, but it won’t convert the video file.  Is there any other free software like Windows movie maker that work for the flip video camcorder?

   Caffeinated Content

   Just convert the video before trying to bring it into MovieMaker… Use StreamClip
   or
   HandBrake
   There are many others.

   After the video is converted to a file format MovieMaker can use (it prefers .wmv or .avi files, among others), quit out of the video converter application, launch MovieMaker and drag the video to the Collections area or the timeline.
